Why were African enslaved?

Choose ONE of the four Parts in the book, The Transatlantic Slave Trade, which we have read: Part I: Why Were Africans Enslaved Part II: The Slave Trade Within Africa Part III: The Middle Passage Part IV: Effects in Africa Each one of these PARTS contains four or five excerpts of articles or excerpts of documents, which gives a distinct perspective. For the PART that you choose answer both questions (1) and (2). Question #2 has two options, you may choose either A or B. (1) Briefly summarize, compare and contrast the distinct perspectives offered by the excerpted readings. Be sure to include all of the readings. When discussing the readings clearly state the name of the article or document and the name of the author. (2) Explain EITHER (A) what you have learned in total by all of the readings that you did not know before, OR (B) which reading you found most enlightening, convincing or persuasive and why.
