William syndrome

The focus of the presentation is teaching information DSWs need to support someone with this syndrome. The presentation will provide the following: - A brief description of the syndrome in terms understandable to other students. You can use some medical terms but you must learn how to pronounce them and how to define them in terms understandable to the class. The focus of this project is not a medical explanation of the syndrome unless it is presented in an understandable way that would benefit a DSW's daily work. The focus is to teach how a DSW needs to support someone with this syndrome. • Common treatment strategies (past and current treatments if applicable and relevant to past care or current support) • Information on organizations and/or support groups that could provide more information • Current research findings on the syndrome (at least 3 sources from 2015-2018). See the rubric for documentation of the papers you are using in your presentation. Students should refer to current publications and periodicals. The library here at Humber is an excellent source. • Focus primarily on information that a DSW working in the field would need to know about supporting someone with this syndrome (be practical) • Preparation of three potential test questions related to your subject and your presentation (be sure to give the right answer somewhere in the study notes). I do use some of these questions in the test. • Prepare study notes that students can download from Blackboard. This is due and must be posted as a "course message" to all students before the beginning of the class your group is scheduled to present in. You do not need to make copies. Students are also expected to take notes during your presentation because the information presented is required learning for the exam These study should be no more than 2 typed sheets (posted on Blackboard under Course Messages to class).
