Word Painting

Purpose This discussion board post is designed to meet the following goals: - demonstrate an understanding of the compositional technique known as word-painting (CG3) - demonstrate contextualized learning by making connections between music from hundreds of years ago and the music of today (PG2) Please refer to the syllabus for more details regarding the program, area, and course goals. Instructions 1. Review the description of word-painting from lesson 3. 2. Find a modern piece of music that uses word painting. You may not use a piece that has already been posted by another classmate or one that was used as an example in this lesson, so please review your notes before beginning this assignment. 3. Embed your chosen song in your post using the YouTube button. 4. Use at least two musical vocabulary terms in bold font to describe exactly how the song uses word painting. 5. Provide time markers to indicate exactly where the word painting is heard.
