Nurse leaders should work with their staff to foster respect for various lifestyles. It is imperative to demonstrate respect for all patients and colleagues, regardless of their cultural differences, to convey the message that differences are valued. Nurse leaders must address critical principles to ensure diverse groups are led and managed effectively.

Define multiculturalism,  cross-culturalism, and transculturalism.

Explain the definitions in your own words and give an example of applying each term to a leadership situation. For example, think of a time in your practice when you, as a nurse leader, used multiculturalism to promote inclusion among colleagues or patients.
