Introduction
This section will describe the methods applied to gather data and will describes the sources of data. The procedures and techniques applied for data collection enables readers to understand appreciate the strength and the limitation of the study. Mixed methods approach has been adopted. The approach allows the researcher to apply the quantitative and qualitative data equally. Both results will be critically compared and merged to establish the findings. Mixed-methods research offers a way of making research more meaningful, complete and purposeful than is the case when using either a singular qualitative or quantitative approach (whitehead et al.,2013).
Populations and sampling Techniques
Population
The researcher refers the sample frames to the list of participants that questionnaire will be distributed. The sample frames for this research was the ……………..personnel who has completed their contract with the institutions between 2015-2017 and has sign another one- or two-year contract with the said institutions. The population for his study includes one hundred (75) respondents that has renewed their contract in four respective units. This sampling size was chosen by the researcher due to several factors such as the researcher were unable to hire assistants to assist in the collected of primary data and due to the participant works rotation, the researcher was faced with time and transport limitation, considering the time frame set for the research. However, applying a larger sample, the research would not be completed with the set time frame.
Sampling
Simple random sampling methods was used to select the respondents. This method was used as military personnel from each unit has equal chances for being selected for the study. Numbers were assigned on each sample frame and mixed thoroughly in a jar, then 75 respondents were picked, their respective units were identified which quality the respondent to participate in the study. Both male and female participants have been included in the research.

Data Collection Procedures
The questionnaire was made up of close-ended questions, this was easier for respondent with low academic background to express their opinion on the issues. However, close ended was used to ensure that clear, definite answers are provided which was easily quantifies while presenting the results of the study. Close -ended questions are often preferred for this method in that they will help the researcher achieve what they principally want from questionnaires (Barnard et al, 2004).
Pre- Testing
In order to remove ambiguities, pilot testing was carried out on 15 workers of the institutions. A pilot study is one of the important stages in a research project and is conducted to identify potential problem areas and deficiencies in the research instruments and protocol prior to implementation during the full study (Hassan et al.,2006).The purpose was to help validate and ensure the reliability of the questions in measuring what the questions intended to answer. Hence the pre-testing enables the researcher to make amendments according to the purpose of the study and also makes the question easy for the respondents to understand in other to provides appropriate responses.
Reliability and Validity of Instrument
The researchers ensure that the instruments developed clearly defines the concepts of the study. The pilot testing was used to determine the reliability and validity of the instrument and ascertain how dependable and the consistency of the questions in the questionnaire.
Research Design
Descriptive research design has been used in the study. Descriptive research is usually a fact-finding approach generalizing a cross-sectional study of the present situation (Bhattacharrya,2006). Why?
Data Sources
Data was collected from both primary and secondary sources. Why?Questionnaire was use as primary instruments. According to Barnard et al. (2004) primary data can results from the employment of questionnaires, structured, semi structures and unstructured interviews; and observation techniques. However, Mathers N. et al., (2007), agrees that this instrument is very convenient in collection of useful comparable data from a large number of individuals within a short time and that it is easy to administer. Hence it is very easy to use and code for analysis.
Whereas secondary instruments were used to collect data through official documents such as past surveys, statistical compilations and annual reports for the past three years. According to Johnson (2014), secondary data analysis provides researchers with opportunities to engage in work to test new ideas, theories, frameworks, and models of research design.
Data Analysis
The handling of data started whereby each application was given a code pertaining to their respective units to ensure that all questionnaire distributed were collected. coding was done to ensure easy identification and facilitate the data input exercise. The Microsoft excel software were used to input results collected. This software was chosen because excel is a software widely use to ensure easy generation of percentages, while tables and charts were use in the analysis and interpretation of data.
