(Paul)The fundamental purposes of the analysis phase are to determine what is the best operating system for use is. This is the part of the System developmental life cycle that analyzes the organizations desires of the specific system and how it will be used. This planning process allows for the organization to really focus on what they want from the IS and how they want to use and manipulate the data from it. This step is vital because if the organization does not plan properly, they could result with an inferior IS that will not be capable of providing the services needed. This will cause more time developing in the design phase and could push back organizational goals.
The design phase is the phase that the organization will customize the IS to their needs. This phase is to make the IS selected the most efficient for the organizations and cater the IS to best meet the organizational needs. The logical design is something that will be performed in this process, and this will control the actual functions of the IS. This is designing what the inputs are required. The physical design is what takes those inputs and gives you the desired outcome that the organization needs from the inputs given. The physical design may be a chart or graph that will tell the story of the data given based from the logical data inputted. This phase is where they developers will customize these two designs for the organizations benefit.
The system implementation process is the process that allows for the people/users to become familiar with the IS also allows for the designers to fix and modify anything that may be wrong with the IS. This is the timeframe to identify what works and does not for the organization and fix it. This is the best time for developers to get the feedback from users to make adjustments for a more efficient IS.
