I believe that the situational leadership theory best fits the interaction of the leader, followers, and situation in this example. This theory states that there is no one best leadership style, and that the best style to use depends on the followers and the situation. In my case, I had to use a variety of leadership styles to be successful. I was directive when the team needed clear guidance, but I was also supportive and empowering when the team was capable of taking on more responsibility.
